What Is an Industrial Rotary Dryer?
An industrial rotary dryer is a rotating cylindrical system that exposes material to controlled heat so moisture or other volatile liquids evaporate and can be removed from the process stream. Unlike a rotary kiln, which is generally selected for higher-temperature thermal reactions, a rotary dryer is primarily designed to reduce liquid content; sizing depends on the feed material, initial and target moisture, evaporation load, heating method and required throughput.

Municipal Solid Waste Dryer Systems
HiTemp rotary dryer modules are specifically designed to reduce the moisture content of waste materials. Municipal solid waste (MSW) typically contains 30% to 40% moisture, which must be reduced to support subsequent processing and efficient destruction.
Our rotary dryer systems can process powders and sludge to remove water, oil and solvents. Operating temperatures and process requirements determine system sizing, heating methods and production capacity. Many applications may require testing to optimize the system design. Connections are also provided for steam and condensate or thermal fluids and can be located at either the feed or discharge points.
Modules can be linked together as needed to reduce the moisture content of waste materials effectively. A separate system conveyor feeds the modules, with each module capable of processing 500 kg per hour.
